I took my car in for a state inspection as I am new to Virginia. The staff was very pleasant, performed the inspection while I waited, and went over their recommendations for additional maintenance items. They were not pushy at all, stating that I could have them do whichever items I wanted (none of the items were safety hazards) and the others at another time. I liked their approach as I didn’t feel pressured into doing it all at one time.

Ok, first off... I called the Toano shop on a Friday afternoon, before a holiday weekend, asking for an inspection, knowing that they would be swamped. The manager told me they were swamped and offered another location as an alternative which had an opening a few days later. I explained that I was in a pinch to get the inspection done before an important trip and it is completely my fault for waiting so long.
