There was a disconnect between the promised service and the actual outcome. Beware! My son's experience with this auto repair shop was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite glowing reviews, the reality was far from stellar. The mechanics focused on the immediate issues for inspection but went on to recommend and perform unnecessary repairs, including replacing a recently installed battery. Tracy pulled a fast one on me where I almost couldn't afford to get my car back from an oil and headlight change. They send out a form that will keep a signature if they adjust the price.
Dropped my car off for some repairs and all was completed to my satisfaction. Had my u-bolt replaced as well as a brake job, and ended up spending around 2k at this place. When I dropped my car off at the shop my door handle and lock were functioning on the driver-side door. Upon picking up my car and driving home, I noticed the shop had broken my door handle and I could not get out of the car from the inside. Went in for a check engine light. They got on it and determined the codes responsible. They did extensive research to determine the cause of light and the engine running roughly, it took a while and got off on a tangent, but they were able to determine the cause of the problem. They found the source of the electrical problem and corrected the problem. The bill reasonable and fair for actions to resolve the problem. It would trust them to diagnose and repair what ails your car.
Newman's always makes me feel like he considers me a friend like he genuinely cares about me and my vehicle I think if you want honesty from a mechanic this is your go to 5+stars alwats! Thanks David
In addition to having a kind, generous staff, they offer quick service and super competitive rates. Can’t imagine going anywhere else in Austin after stumbling upon Newman’s Automotive. Mike Newman must be one of the kindest people in the world.
The clerical staff was very knowledgeable and able to clearly explain what repairs and maintenance were needed for the car. The work completion time was very rapid, with the car ready for pick-up the afternoon of the same day it was brought in.
